In light of all the 'sky is falling' news about TV, I came across this:
"Nothing beats a big small screen, according to research commissioned by BroadStream Systems. Despite the preponderance of options for TV viewing on PCs, tablets and smartphones, the vast majority of Americans polled said they prefer to watch television shows…on a television, according to a survey by market research firm YouGov that found 82 percent of respondents regularly use their TV set for live TV viewing, versus 14 percent who use a laptop, 10 percent who use a desktop, 8 percent who use a mobile phone and 7 percent a tablet.
The survey also showed 64 percent of viewers like to watch their favorite shows in groups – no easy task on a smartphone."
The deal is TV is still king and most of the uptick in online activity runs with TV viewing, not at the cost of it. So don't feel guilty about making the popcorn and sitting down in front of the good ol' TV.
All the retailers who make good money selling 50" HDTVs are counting on it!
